Too Cool

Zeke, as you can see, has a pair of shades. He loves them. Or at the least, he must wear them just about everywhere: out and about, in the car, to school, in the yard. Also, at the table, in the bath, throughout music class, and to bed. I think part of the compulsion is that he sees both Aaron and I (and most other family members) wearing glasses. I tell him that it is just a matter of a few years until he will probably need glasses like we do. Still, I think he also just likes wearing them! Alternate theory: he may be so cool he has to wear shades...even with his teddy bear hat. His interest started when we were at a store and he kept taking sunglasses from a display. Of course, I broke down and got him a pair (and then traded Zach for these red ones).

What can you do when you are nearly two and your mom still dresses you like a teddy bear?

Hide behind some cool shades.

So cute! I mean, so cool!

Love,
Trish

No, he's the one that likes that hat! (Well, I like it, too.)

Jamie, I'm finally caught up and have just read all your posts from Thanksgiving on. Whew! Zeke has grown and accomplished so much in these few short months. I can't believe it! He's turning into a big boy now, and the little baby is just about gone. Sniff, sniff . . . .

Oh, before I forget, please give my very best to your Mom. I sure hope her surgery went well and that she's feeling much better now.

I must tell you that our Violet and new puppy, Flora, were ecstatic with their Christmas "Bon-bons!" They were a huge hit, and I feel so badly that I didn't thank you sooner. They were waiting for us when we returned from our trip out West over Christmas. We had a marvelous time, in spite of the really cold weather.

It looks as if Christmas was fun for you all, too, and I loved the pictures of Zeke with his Great Grandfather!

I can't believe Zeke's second birthday is fast approaching, and I know you can't either. Be sure to share his party with us via lots of pictures.

Please call if you get an opportunity on your next visit. I think of you all so often and will be looking forward to reading more of Zeke's Chronicles!

Lots of love to you all,
Diane

P.S. Love those red sunglasses -- they truly are "tres chic" with such a sophisticated hat!
