Remember me? Yeah, I blog here sometimes. I know you remember our star Zeke, though. I worry about not updating the blog, not only because of you dear reader, but I know there is no chance I will remember some of these things about his growing up later. I mean, I went to get groceries three times this week and each time forgot to bring my shopping list, meaning that I forgot to buy the same ingredient three times. Really. It is embarrassing. I think it is unlikely that I will remember my name or Zeke's name in a few years.
Anyway, Zeke has been able to read his name for sure since some time in June, but he can also read his cousin's name and the words "boy" and "happy." I think there are a few other words he can read, but these are the only ones that we know he reads for sure. I suppose I should try to see if he can read a whole sentence like, "Zeke is a happy boy." Sometimes he can also spell his name. What strikes us as interesting is that we explicitly taught him how to spell and read his name and his cousin's, but not the other words. I think that would please my ed professors who in the early 90's were complete devotees of whole language.
