The Cute Gene (37 weeks, 1 day)

Just a quick post before I go to bed. I had to post some photos of our nephew Zachary who was here with us all last week. He is a lot bigger than the last time he was here. (He was just 3 months old then.) Maggie misses him terribly. He liked to hand feed Maggie her food, as well as his food. For the first time, Maggie got to sample Cheerios, (fake) chicken nuggets, Goldfish crackers and, oh yeah, Twizzlers. This for a dog who hardly ever gets to eat tasty people food! If anyone is worried that our animals will not react well to the Sprout, you would have relieved to see how well they got along with Zachary. Maggie took it pretty well even when Zachary tried to curl up on the dog bed with her or pulled her tail.

Though I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked with my grandma, sister and nephew, I did get to take Zachary to the zoo. Forget all the animals, though. The highlight of the zoo was a groundskeepers' cart and the toy tractors in the petting zoo area and the playground.

What a cute little boy. I'm hoping Sprout has all the same cuteness genes. (This is Zachary napping with his behind up in the air.)

I'll make sure to post tomorrow how the pre-flipping appointment with the midwife goes. The Sprout is active and moves, but has shown no movement that feels like a forward somersault. I still have my lump to the left of the belly button (the bottom) and the lump under my right ribs (big head). I know it is common for children to be as their parents are, but does Sprout really have to wait until the last minute on something important like this?
