Super Baby

On our cul de sac, potluck brunches used to be a regular event. As we had not had one recently, we hosted one last Sunday. Our neighbors from a few doors down came with their son Kal-El who just turned one a few weeks ago. The boys got to play together. It was fun, but "playing" at this age takes so much supervision! When at playgroups, I feel like the parents (me included) just become a herd bleating "Share!" "Be gentle!" "That's not your sippie cup!" Same thing on Sunday, but we got to eat waffles at the same time.

Still, it was fun to see the boys interacting now that they aren't blobby babies, which they were the last time they had a proper chance to play. On Sunday, Zeke actually followed Kal-El around and then tried to play hide and seek. It was also fun to imagine the boys playing together as they grow up. They may need each other as most of the new babies on the block are all quick moving girls.

This is Zeke with Kal-El and his very proud papa James. I promise we had not dressed the boys similarly on purpose!

Aside from his allusive name, this is why I call Kal-El "Super Baby". His father holds him up and Kal-El holds himself horizontally like he is flying or ski jumping. It is a great party trick!

After brunch, the boys took a "Sunday drive" around the block in Kal-El's new wagon with their dads taking turns driving. What a pair!

Kal El is super cute! How wonderful to have another little boy nearly the same age as Zeke nearby for a playmate. They are both adorable riding in the big red wagon.
